These Terms & Conditions (Terms) govern your access to and use of the PoolSpace platform (PoolSpace, we, us, or our).
By accessing or using PoolSpace, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the platform.
PoolSpace is a technology platform that enables users to create and contribute to goal-based group funding pools.
PoolSpace facilitates contribution coordination and enables funds to be transferred to a designated recipient.
- PoolSpace does not hold, custody, or store funds.
- PoolSpace does not provide banking, escrow, lending, or investment services.
- All payment processing, identity verification, and payouts are handled by Stripe, our third-party payment services provider.
PoolSpace is not a bank, money transmitter, or financial institution.
- Pool: a group funding page created for a specific purpose.
- Organizer: the person who creates and manages a Pool.
- Contributor: a person who makes a Contribution.
- Recipient: the verified individual or entity designated to receive funds.
- Contribution: a payment made to a Pool.
- Payment Provider: Stripe or any authorized third-party payment processor.
To use PoolSpace, you must be at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter binding agreements, and use the platform only for lawful purposes.
PoolSpace may suspend or terminate access at its discretion.
By creating a Pool, you represent and warrant that all information provided is accurate and not misleading, that you have authority to raise funds for the stated purpose, that the purpose is lawful, and that the designated Recipient has consented to receive funds where applicable.
Organizers are solely responsible for the accuracy of all Pool content.
Before payouts are enabled, the Recipient must complete identity verification through Stripe and bank account details must be submitted and verified directly with Stripe.
PoolSpace does not independently verify bank ownership beyond Stripe's verification processes.
Contributions are processed through the Organizer's connected Stripe account as payments are made. Stripe pays available balances to the connected bank account according to that account's payout schedule. A Pool's goal or end date controls when new Contributions stop; it does not by itself initiate a separate Pool-level payout.
Stripe may delay, restrict, or cancel transactions or payouts in accordance with its regulatory obligations. Once funds are transferred to the Recipient by Stripe, PoolSpace has no control over the use of those funds.
All Contributions are voluntary. By making a Contribution, you confirm that you reviewed the Pool details, understand who the Recipient is, and understand applicable fees.
Contributions are generally non-refundable once processed. Contributors may dispute a payment directly with their card issuer in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws and card network rules.
PoolSpace does not guarantee refunds and is not responsible for payment reversals initiated through banks or card networks.
PoolSpace charges a service fee per Contribution. Stripe payment processing fees also apply.
- All fees are clearly displayed before payment.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
- PoolSpace may modify fees with notice.
All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy.
- PoolSpace does not store card details.
- PoolSpace does not process payments directly.
- PoolSpace is not liable for payment processor errors, outages, or compliance decisions.
After a Pool receives its first Contribution, the designated Recipient cannot be changed, verified payout details cannot be modified without additional verification, and the Pool may not be canceled if doing so would conflict with Stripe's payment, payout, dispute, or compliance processes.
These restrictions exist to protect Contributors.
You may not use PoolSpace to commit fraud or misrepresentation, launder money or evade laws, fund illegal activity, raise funds for prohibited items under Stripe's Acceptable Use Policy, or impersonate another person.
PoolSpace may suspend or terminate accounts involved in prohibited activity.
PoolSpace and Stripe may monitor Pools for suspicious activity, pause or suspend Pools pending review, and comply with law enforcement or regulatory requests.
We are not required to provide advance notice of suspension.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PoolSpace is not liable for disputes between Organizers, Contributors, or Recipients; misuse of funds after payout; payment reversals or chargebacks; delays or failures caused by Stripe; or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Your use of the platform is at your own risk.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PoolSpace, its officers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or losses arising from your use of the platform, your Pool content, or your violation of these Terms.
All PoolSpace branding, software, and content are owned by PoolSpace. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.
PoolSpace processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable United States data protection laws.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws.
